The Developing and Supporting the Curriculum Enhancement Theme commenced work in October 2011. DSC will allow the HE sector dedicated time and resource to consider and shape the nature of the Scottish HE experience, complementing work already going on within institutions.

In G21C we considered what attributes graduates should have when they complete their first degree. Now we will consider how students arrive at this point:

Developing & Supporting the Curriculum

How is the curriculum, in its broadest sense, shaped and delivered?

Who is it for – how is the student body changing?

What support is required for staff?

Every HEI has been invited to consider each of the above questions and in turn we are now hosting a series of road-show events to open up discussion across the sector.

It is an important first phase of the Theme to debate and further explore issues pertinent to your discipline, HEI and for the sector more broadly.

Aim of event: The aim of these events is to introduce you to the work of the DSC Theme and to be part of early activities to identify key areas to be addressed in Phase 2 of the Theme.

By participating in the event you will be able to:

  • Outline the early development of the Theme
  • Help shape further activities to be explored in the Theme
  • Identify and appreciate the Theme’s potential within your institution, discipline and sector

These outcomes will be achieved through a combination of presentations and group and plenary discussion.

Online Booking will open early January 2012.
