QAA Scotland to host exciting social evenings following Enhancement Conference

QAA Scotland
| 09 May 2017

This year's 3rd International Enhancement in Higher Education Conference includes three social activities to give delegates an opportunity to continue networking in an informal setting and to take time out from the busy conference schedule to join us in some celebrations of Scottish culture and with our Conference dinner.

Civic reception - Free event

Delegates are invited to attend a Civic Reception on Tuesday 6 June at 18.30 in the Radisson-Blu Hotel.  The City of Glasgow takes pride in welcoming conference delegates to the city and a representative of the city’s Lord Provost will be in attendance to welcome guests, with Glasgow City Council providing a complimentary drinks reception.  There is no cost to attend the Civic reception but we ask you to register for catering purposes. Please note the Scottish evening will follow on directly from this event.

Scottish evening - £25 per person

Delegates are also invited to join us on Tuesday 6 June at 19.30 for our Scottish-themed evening at the Radisson-Blu Hotel. It’s a great way for all our delegates, especially international colleagues, to experience a wee snapshot of some Scottish culture and learn a few Scottish dances.  The evening will start with a light buffet supper, followed by the opportunity to join our live Cèilidh band, Calm Doon, who join our event following their recent success at the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations, for a fun evening of music and dance. So dust down your dancing shoes and join us!

Conference dinner - £40 per person

We will be holding our conference dinner on Wednesday 7 June at 19.00 at the Radisson-Blu Hotel. The evening includes a pre-dinner drinks reception at 1900 (sponsored by our conference hosts the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow), a three course meal with tea and coffee, and our after dinner speaker, Aamer Anwar who is a leading Human Rights lawyer and rector of University of Glasgow.

This evening provides delegates with an ideal opportunity to carry on some of those conference debates and discussions.

Delegates are welcome to bring up to 3 guests to the Scottish evening and conference dinner.  You can book the number of required places when registering for the conference.
