Six hundred delegates from across 17 different countries came together over three days to share practice at the 3rd International Enhancement in Higher Education Conference making it a resounding success. The Conference is the UK's largest learning and teaching event and was held from 6-8 June in Glasgow. The event explored a multifaceted approach to transforming the student experience. The programme offered lots of opportunity to exchange views and share experience around the following six interrelated tracks:
- Using data to enhance the student experience
- National and institutional approaches to quality and evaluating impact
- Internationalising the student experience
- Accessing higher education
- Transitions through higher education
- Positive destinations for students including postgraduate study and employability

These tracks supported the desire of the organisers to engage with delegates from across the UK and around the globe. The Conference also provided an important opportunity to celebrate the outcomes of work the Scottish higher education sector has been actively progressing on the Student Transitions Enhancement Theme as part of our integrated Quality Enhancement Framework. A key legacy resource from the Student Transitions Enhancement Theme has been the creation of the Student Transitions Map which is an interactive resources aimed at anyone with an interest in how students transition into, through and out of higher education. It functions as a visual representation of the student journey, with each transition type represented as an island.
The Conference generated a large number of resources including presentation slides (keynote and parallel), conference papers, poster presentations and a short highlights film, all of which are available on the Enhancement Themes website. The full suite of Conference photos can also be viewed on our Flickr account.
A wider bank of resources, including a series of Conference films encapsulating key thoughts from some of our speakers on how to transform the student experience will also be available in due course. The Conference became the number one trending topic on twitter in Glasgow and some of the stimulating discussion points were captured in this storify account.
