The First Year
First Year Event - 26 April 2006
Following a presentations by Professor Terry Mayes (Expert Adviser to the Steering Committee and author of the scoping paper) and Professor Ron Piper (Chair of the Steering Committee), the keynote speaker was Dr Betsy Barefoot of the Policy Center for the First Year College, Brevard, North Carolina.
The afternoon workshops followed the topics outlined in the presentation by Professor Piper, as areas of interest expressed in response to the scoping paper consultation.
Workshops were led by Dr Barefoot and by members of the Steering Committee, including the student representatives:
