Guide to Theme Outcomes

Each Enhancement Theme has produced detailed material, in both published and web-based formats, for use by colleagues in the sector.  The volume of this data is now so great that in 2006 SHEEC decided that it would be appropriate to produce an easily accessible guide to Themes outcomes.

The guide will be added to as Themes work progresses and will be subject to frequent updating and review.

For ease of classification and searching, the guide has been divided into the chronology of the student journey, from application, to graduation and beyond. 

In each part of the student journey, issues that have arisen from the Themes literature are identified. Explanatory text is supplied with each issue with links to the source material from the relevant Themes publication.

Things that make a difference: lessons from the Enhancement Themes

Using the same structure as the Guide to Theme Outcomes and drawing from all the Themes, this publication highlights the key findings that can make a difference to the student experience.

The lessons are a distillation of the lessons from extensive and collective work of the Themes across the sector in Scotland and a pointer to the key ways of enhancing  the student experience.

Other sources

The published material cites an extensive literature, the details of which can be accessed via the Enhancement Themes web site   In addition, consultants and other researchers have produced material that is reported in the outcomes literature.
