The Steering Committee for the Assessment theme reached the conclusion that the relationship between formative and summative assessment was a significant issue in Higher Education. A summary of its conclusions can be found here.
The Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee subsequently commissioned work on Integrative Assessment to establish the optimal relationship between the two forms of assessment. The Integrative Assessment Steering Committee's programme of work can be found here.
