During the Theme, the University aimed to create more awareness of student transitions and their complexity. They approached transitions as a challenge and focused on what the University could do to help students in this area. The University covered:

  • transitions into, through and out of university
  • postgraduate student transitions.

The University also worked on some project areas in collaboration with Abertay University.


In year two, the University hired a specialist team of project leaders to look at different aspects of student transitions.


In the final year of the Theme, the University focused on developing online resources to support both staff and students. This included two projects involving the Students’ Association. The University also supported the Annual Student Summit. This event gives staff and students the opportunity to come together to discuss student experience and issues.
