Heriot-Watt University used the Student Transitions Theme to complement work already underway. They identified two key areas relevant to their priorities, including:

  • less time to completion for postgraduate research students
  • improved retention and progression of undergraduate students.

In the final year, the University continued to develop work to support the Theme. The University considered fifteen projects over the duration of the Theme with funding provided for nine of these. The university selected a project team that consisted of staff and students from their international campuses. Some projects involved working in collaboration with other Scottish universities.
