The University of St Andrews met with students and staff to help identify the focus of their Theme work. They also considered the University strategy and recent Enhancement Led Institution Review (ELIR) outcomes. This identified three main areas of student transitions to explore:

  • transition from student to professional
  • transition through collaborative programmes
  • transitioning from taught postgraduate study to research postgraduate study.

The University assigned project leads to work on each of these topics. The project leads also progressed plans of collaborative work between staff and students, with the University offering funding to encourage this. The main aim was to develop work and tools to improve student confidence, resilience and independence.
