The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) focused on five student transitions topics.

  • FE/HE articulation
  • transition between levels and progression to honours/Postgraduate study
  • transitions into and back from work-based placement
  • international student transitions and student mobility.

The University undertook a scoping exercise on transitions and used this to identify gaps in provision in student transitions. The University then funded projects to address the gaps they found.

In the final year of the Theme, the University completed a mapping exercise to provide an internal picture of the state of student transition. Findings were also used to contribute to the Student Transitions Map.
