Here at QAA Scotland, we are looking forward to an exciting academic year, where there will be many changes as we seek to work with the colleges, universities and key sector stakeholders to deliver a more tertiary approach to education and our quality arrangements in Scotland.

Session 2023-24 will be a period of significant change for Scottish education, as both Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) take forward plans to adopt a tertiary approach to the delivering of further and higher education using a common approach for quality assurance and enhancement. We will have a significant role to play in supporting the delivery of these changes and the continuing debates within the sector on matters such as the ongoing influence of the COVID pandemic on the delivery of learning and teaching, assessment and feedback, and the cost-of-living crisis which are all likely to be key topics of interest during the next session.

Becoming a representative on SHEEC provides students with a unique opportunity to shape and influence policy development, is a wonderful personal development opportunity and brings a real sense of purpose and fulfilment at a time when working in partnership with our student community is taking on a new perspective.

How to make a nomination

We are seeking three student representatives for SHEEC, and applications must be submitted by 11 September 2023. Submit your nomination via our online form.
